PIN for offline authentication and signing charts

We updated the Security Settings page to ensure that the PIN field is required for all users, and removed the PASSKEY field that was being used for offline authentication of migrated users in emsCharts for Windows, and both online and offline authentication for SyncPad. Users are now required to use their username and PIN when logging into SyncPad in an online or offline state, and when logging into emsCharts for Windows when offline. Users will continue using their password and PIN when signing charts.

Note: Users can set their PIN under Home > Security Settings.

SyncPad user authentication methods

We updated the user authentication methods used by SyncPad through our API to ensure that non-migrated users can login using their emsCharts managed credentials (no change), and migrated users can login to SyncPad in either a connected (online) or disconnected (offline) state using their username and PIN.

Important! After a user has been migrated, they will be required to use their PIN in place of their password to login to SyncPad, whether their device is in a connected (online) or disconnected (offline) state.

Patient Records filters

We updated the Patient Records page to ensure that when a user selects a filter, that filter will be that user's default filter until they change to another filter. The last filter selected by a user will be the default filter for that user the next time they visit the Patient Records page.

Command Facilities - Patient Records page

We updated the logic to display the proper message to users if they aren't assigned a Command Facility QA level. Users will now see the message "No QA Level Assigned." if they do not have a QA level assigned.

Standard Signatures character count

The maximum character count has been increased to 8000 for the following Standard Signatures fields:

• Main Header

• Section I

• Section II

• Section III

The maximum character count has been increased to 1000 for the Acknowledgment section.

Pulsara case filtering

We added the ability to filter Pulsara cases available for import into a PCR by hiding cases that have already been imported, and displaying cases that have not been previously imported. The new 'Hide Already Imported Pulsara Records' filter will be checked by default, but users can remove the filter to display all available cases, regardless of import status. When the filter is removed and all cases are displayed, cases that have been imported to a PCR will be marked as such and the PRIDs can be viewed by hovering the cursor over the checkmark in the 'Imported to PCR(s)' column.

Bug fixes

Reset ZOLL Online password

We fixed an issue preventing users and administrators with appropriate security permissions from being able to reset a migrated user's ZOLL Online password from the User Profile page using the 'Reset ZO Password' button. Users with the appropriate security permissions can now reset a user's password from the User Profile page for both non-migrated users whose credentials are still managed in emsCharts, and migrated users who authenticate through ZOLL Online.

Important! This password reset fix did not make the 14.01 release on Tuesday, January 14^th. It is currently in development and will be released as soon as possible.

Faxed documents

We fixed an issue that was causing an "@" symbol to be displayed in blank fields in faxed documents. This fix ensures that blank fields within the PCR are displayed as blank fields when a PCR is faxed.

Deleted charts

We fixed an issue that was preventing the ability for users to download the XML of deleted charts.

Number of Attempts for Procedures

We fixed an issue that was allowing users to modify the number of Attempts documented when editing a Procedure if the Command Facility option to force the number of Attempts to be equal to "one" was enabled. Now, when the Command Facility option to force the number of Attempts for Procedures to be "one" is enabled, users cannot edit Procedure Attempts.

Configuration: Command Fac. > Chart > Page 8 > Allow Multiple Attempts for Procedures = 'No'

CMS Level of Service

We fixed an issue that was causing the calculated CMS Level of Service in the exported NEMSIS file to be different than the calculated CMS Level of Service displayed in the Chart Summary when a Service was configured to exclude the specific medications from being used to differentiate between ALS1 and ALS2 CMS Level of Service.
